About Me
I am a classically trained pianist who holds a Bachelor of Music degree, a Performance and Teacher's Licentiate in Piano from Trinity College of Music, London, a Chamber Music Licentiate in Piano (UNISA), a Post Graduate Diploma in Piano Performance , Master of Music and a Master of Arts in Modern European Languages.
I currently teach piano at the Wesley Music Foundation and at my studio in Ainslie and I am also a sessional academic in Music Theory, Aural and Music History at the Australian National University & ANU College. I am a Steinway Certified Educational Partner and have over 20 years of experience as a teacher. After completion of my Bachelor of Music studies, I continued my studies in Paris, France, studying piano and chamber music with Denis Pascal & Christophe Maynard at the Conservatoire Nationale de Paris (CNR) and I also worked as accompanist for the Student Association of the École Normale de Musique de Paris, A. Cortot, followed by a year in Padua Italy, studying with Franco Angeleri at the Masiero e Centanin Music Foundation. In 2005 I participated in Piano & Vocal Accompaniment Masterclasses at the Juilliard School of Music in New York.
I moved to Australia in 2006 and taught piano at the Wesley Music Centre from 2006 - 2012 as well as French and Italian at various schools in Canberra. Between 2012-2015, I worked in New York as accompanist and taught Piano and prepared students for the Juilliard School of Music Summer School Program, the NYSSMA (New York State Music Evaluations, level 1-6) the Princeton University Piano Competition as well as ABRSM(USA) Exams. Upon return to Canberra, I resumed teaching piano at the Wesley Music Centre. I prepare students for AMEB, ABRSM as well as Trinity College of Music Practical and Theory Exams. I also work as accompanist and accompany students each year for exams, recitals and concerts. My students also participate in the Australian National Eisteddfod and student recitals at the Wesley Music Centre each Term.
I am patient, friendly and dedicated. My students have achieved excellent results in both AMEB and ABRSM music exams as well as in the National Piano Eisteddfod. My lessons are tailor-made to the needs of each student and age appropriate.
